What is your earliest memory?

I was getting all reminiscent yesterday, sharing earliest memories with my husband (who actually wanted to watch the Formula 1 instead but temporarily obliged me..  :D ).

For him, it was his baby brother coming back from the hospital to which he recalls being 'distinctly unimpressed'.  And for me, I have vague memories of being on a scooter in my nursery playground, drinking warm free school milk from a bottle at break and being very proud of having a coat peg with my name on.

How far back can you remember?  What's your earliest recollection?  If you feel comfortable sharing, feel free to go down memory road in the comments below :)

I distinctly remember laying in my pram feeling very bored. My next memory is of being squeezed into a high chair for din dins and of filling my nappy there, sorry. I was about eighteen months old or possibly a lot less actually.

I also remember navigating some stone steps by going down them backwards, smart, at about a similar time when I was learning to walk, in fact my mum took pictures of me doing it. ?

    Wow @leeCal that is early!
I'd love to see if hypnotic regression could take me back to things I've forgotten.

One of my earliest memories was being in a car and seeing the huge arch of a massive bridge and being worried because I thought you had to drive over the top of it like a roller coaster... :#

My first coat peg had my name and a ladybird sticker...lol

Agreed @leeCal  That is super early days! I can't remember anything at all from being a baby  :o

Aww @Cress :D The bridge fear!  And aye, there was something about having my own coat peg that made me feel like I'd arrived!  I can see it all so vividly in my minds eye, I absolutely loved nursery.  The freedom to paint, play with sand and have a meltdown because someone took my toy... oh to be young again ha.

My earliest memory is sitting at the bottom of the stairs, & our Dr coming through the front door asking where all my curly hair had gone? I would have been about 4; certainly pre-school.
One I can't remember, but my Mum loved re-telling: I was 'helping' my Mum dig over a patch in the garden. She dug up an earthworm, & apparently I said, 'Mummy, Mummy, put it back it's got no clothes on.' :)

I remember sitting with my mum in our front yard enjoying a picnic, probably wasn't any older than 4 or 5
