Hi everyone
I applied for PiP April and had assessment mid August still not heard anything and been told that they have the assessment but waiting for Decision maker to see it as have back log . I do have a few questions if anyone on hear can Please help xx
What is the time you have had to wait from assessment to decision ?
I'm just wondering if they will message / text me saying it's with the decision makers or not
How quickly do they make the decision ( if they do send messages and they send at say 9am saying it's with the decision makers if they say yes you can have pip will the back payment be in the account same day or. Do I get told in the letter about the start of payments ?
The waiting is really stressing me out sorry if it seams gobbledygook what I've said but Im just wondering if anyone is able to tell me try and put my mind at ease thank you xx

Hi,
It can be anything from 2 -8 weeks sometimes longer. Although there’s really no timescales. They don’t send text messages to say it’s with the decision maker.
If successfully awarded and it’s your first claim without transferring from DLA then money goes into your bank 3-5 working days after it’s sent. Payment usually arrives before the decision letter.0 -
Hi @JH32 Welcome to the community! I hope that poppy123456's answer has helped to put your mind at rest a bit. As she's said, the waiting times vary so it's difficult to say how long it'll be. I'm sorry that this is causing you some anxiety, do you have a good level of support to help you manage the stressful wait?
How do you feel the assessment went?0 -
Same query posted here, perhaps they can be merged: https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/83709/pip-questions-if-any-one-can-help

@JH32, now you have had your assessment you can phone the DWP and request a copy of your assessment report and on receiving it you can work out what your award may should be but you still have to wait for the official award notification letter.0
