Placed in LCWRA group. Will my partner have higher work allowance alongside my benefit?

Hi all
back with another query ? So I applied for a WCA in March 2021 as my partner and I were on UC. Sent in evidence etc as well. Have been waiting for an assessment date since then, but just received a letter on my journal to say that I have been placed in the LCWRA group. (Without an assessment!)
my question is: I know the additional money for LCWRA is about £340 per month. I was reading somewhere that if you or your partner are in the LCWRA group then you also have a higher work allowance (£293). Since my partner is working now, will we have a work allowance of £293 AS WELL AS the additional £340 per month in LCWRA?

So for example, my partner earned £1200 last month. Without LCWRA, that would mean that £1200 x £0.63 = £756 was deducted from our UC entitlement. But WITH LCWRA, would that mean that £1200 - £293 = £907, £907 x £0.63 = £571.41 will be deducted from our UC entitlement and will ALSO be given £340 under LCWRA?
Sorry if it’s too confusing ?

Hello @anxiousbird I imagine being placed in the LCWRA group came as a relief?
Just to let you know, I've tweaked the title of your thread and moved it to our UC category to help attract the eyes of those more informed in this area
It is a confusing topic I agree but one I'm sure someone will be able to help you out with! Take care and enjoy this warm weather we're having.

Thanks @Cher_Scope . Yes it is a relief, especially since it’s been awarded without an assessment! Thanks for moving the discussion on this forum.Ps: I don’t do well in warm weathers, so actually not enjoying at all ? got my air conditioner out ?0

That calculation is spot on if you receive help with your rent in with your UC but it's the lower work allowance. If you don't receive help with the rent then your WA will be the higher amount of £512. Either way, they will also owe you money for that as well. For your LCWRA element there's 3 full month assessment period waiting time so how much they owe you will depend on what date exactly you reported the health condition and the dates of your assessment periods.

Thanks @poppy123456 yea I don’t mind the 3 months waiting period. As long as going forward we have enough money coming in. Just a shame I didn’t know about LCWRA when I first started claiming UC last year. As my disabilities have all been there, and had my ongoing PIP claim, but just didn’t know what else I was entitled to.Anyway, thanks a lot once again0
