Unexpected...

When I had blood tests over the last few months i was found to have raised platelets...
Had no idea what that meant but it prompted a chest xray...which turned out normal.
Just had my gp phone out of the blue and asked did I still have the tiredness and generalised aches and pains, which I'd put down to the deficiencies after I was prescribed vit d folic acid and ferrous sulphate.
She is now sending me for a brain scan, which sounds flippin scary!
I was kicking myself after the call for just saying oh, OK....instead of asking questions, but I think she would have just said 'it may be something, it may be nothing.
Way to keep you up at night! Lol

Try not to worry@cress, surely if it was something sinister she would have told you not just send you a scan.0

Thank you @teddybear12Teddybear12 said:Hi @Cress Do you know how long you will have to wait for the brain scan ? Hopefully not to long. Good luck.
No idea when, hope its sooner then later...1 -
Fingers crossed everything is OK and your not waiting too long for the scan1
-
Best wishes for the brain scan @Cress
Please do keep us updated. 1 -
Thank you for all your kind messages

Think it was just a bit of a shock, coming out of the blue like that and wanted to tell someone...1 -
Good luck hopefully it's not too long to wait1

Hoping all will be well @Cress - in my own case 2 brain & full spine MRIs didn't prove I wasn't right in the head, but my son would have said that was the case (& he's had 2 brain scans too). Probably didn't help that I'd previously told my son I was practising to be an eccentric; he assured me I'd already got there. I'm sure they'll find you have a light switched on most of the time too.
Seriously, thinking about you, & hope it's not too long until you get your scan.

Thanks @Sandy_123

@chiarieds
yeah, in my case the biggest surprise will be there's a brain there...lights on, nobody home...lol 1 -
@Cress..try not to 'wrack you brain', going over all scenarios(easier said than done)..and Good Luck with the result..1
-
@Cress i know it's easy for me to say but try not worry until you know you have something to worry about. In the meantime try and busy yourself to try to take your mind off it. xx

Thank you @Justcheckingin15
And @poppy123456
Feeling a bit embarrassed and silly now ...its no good worrying over, will probably be nothing...but thanks for all the reassurance...has calmed me down now....just being able to tell someone.0 -
Hi @Cress
Ah no need to feel silly, it's understandable to get a bit twitchy when the GP unexpectedly calls you! It sounds like they are being very thorough though and I hope you managed to get a restful nights sleep (although this heat might not have helped). How are you feeling today?1 -
A lot better thanks @Cher_Scope

And I slept like a log ...
I'm keeping in mind what a doctor told my son, when he was overly worrying about surgery, which was 'does the worrying about it make you feel better?'
I'll be fine...

You should never feel embarrassed or silly when asking for support during difficult times! It’s natural to worry about those things.
