I will be getting married within a few months, me & my wife decided to have sex on a specific date but that date is just 2 days before her expected periods date & she will be doing it for the first time. So is it safe for her to have sex ( protected) for the first time just before 2 days of her periods?

Hi and welcome to the community
What do you mean by safe? Do you mean from a pregnancy point of view
If you are using protection then you are taking precautions to avoid pregnancy
You might want to read up on NHS website about when ovulation takes place buf bear in mind every woman's cycle is different so no guarantees0 -
No i mean from pain point of view, she might bleed & have pain right? & again after 2 days she will have her period cramps, so my concern is if it will be too much pain for her?0

Welcome to the community @waggishaw Thanks for joining, and for asking your question.
Congratulations on your engagement! It must be an exciting time for you both.
Is it pregnancy that you're concerned about?
The NHS website explains that:You're most fertile at the time of ovulation (when an egg is released from your ovaries), which usually occurs 12 to 14 days before your next period starts. This is the time of the month when you're most likely to get pregnant. That being said, it's important to use protection. This is the best way to avoid an accidental pregnancy. Have you and your partner discussed birth control options that you're both comfortable with?
It's also worth remembering that period dates aren't 100% specific, so there is a chance she could get her period on a different date.0 -
There is a pill you can get via GP to delay a period if that's any use...0

Sorry I misunderstood
Not everyone has pain or bleeding the first time
You can play a part in this by making sure she is relaxed and ready to take this next step
Also if she is in too much pain then you would not force the issue0 -
Sorry @waggishaw, I hadn't seen your reply before I posted.
Some people do bleed after they lose their virginity, but others don't.
As for the pain, some people do experience some pain, but there shouldn't be lots of pain that's long lasting. It's often more a bit of discomfort, as it's a sensation she might not be used to. It's important that you take it slow, communicate lots, and use lubricant. Have you spoken about how she can communicate with you if she wants you to stop, or to go more slowly and so on?0 -
@Tori_Scope
Communication will not be a problem for us, I am just worried if doing it first time just before 2 days will have any impact on her periods, and I do have one more question, if she experience pain during sex , so how long does it last ?0 -
We can't answer about how long any pain if any will last its all individual
It shouldn't affect her period but again we are not medical or sex advisors
The main point will be to take it slow and make sure she can tell you if it's too painful
You both need to relax and don't put too much pressure on each other that it has to be this date this time etc just progress naturally2 -
Thanks for the replies0

Hi @waggishaw I agree that it's difficult to say, as everyone is different. She shouldn't experience a lot of pain, however. Maybe you could try working up to it, to see how you both feel? I don't know how much sexual stuff you've done together, but there's no rush, so trying some things out and seeing how it goes is usually a good approach. If she decides she's not quite ready on that day, you can always try again a different day.
Losing her virginity shouldn't affect her period in itself. However, some people do experience some spotting after penetrative sex, and others find their period may change if it's something they were feeling stressed or worried about. Of course, if she's worried about her period or any unexpected bleeding, she should go to see her GP right away.
It's good to hear that communication won't be an issue between you That's the most important thing.1 -
Thank you @Tori_Scope0
