I have difficulty speaking to people face to face. But I can speak on the phone if I’m pushed to. Is this part of speaking? I just struggle understanding what these mean even after searching because I need everything to be simplified. Btw I am writing down everything I need to say as this is a pip call on Friday. Thankyou

Good luck with your telephone assessment on Friday @idontlikeliving, it's a good idea to get things written down beforehand, it should help with any nerves and allows you to refer back to your notes if you miss something out.
You should detail how you handle with speaking to somebody on most days, and there is no harm in mentioning how face to face interactions impact you when compared to telephone ones, it will all give the assessor more of a picture of how your condition impacts you.1 -
The communicating verbally descriptors assess native language skills. (Are you deaf, dumb etc)
You probably need to aim for the engaging with others descriptor which is far broader.
Make clear it is an engagement issue, with how and why you have trouble, including some examples. Remember it applies to wide ranging situations, not just how you deal with your family and doctors etc.0
