I've been awarded standard daily living. Unsure about MR. Does diagnosis make a difference?

I've just been awarded standard daily living. I got 11 points so a part of me considered going for a MR but I'm not sure if it would achieve anything. 

Every area where I've been given points it states 'you claim to struggle with x, y, z, this is consistent with your diagnosis, specialist input and medication' 

I know everyone says your diagnosis isn't important but I feel like it perhaps does make a difference? It almost seems like the assessor had a template of what my diagnosis looks like and allocated me points randomly according to that without actually assessing what I as an individual struggle with. 

Is that how an assessment is supposed to work?

    Hi,

    Usually a diagnosis is not in question and i would say that is a standard template they've used. The HCP that assessed you doesn't make the decision's. A decision maker from DWP does this.
    What you need to do is go through each descriptor to see if you could score that extra point needed because if you can't then it's pointless requesting the MR. If you're unsure then you should get further expert advice. https://advicelocal.uk/
