New here, looking for support near Stafford

I am trying to find out if there are any disability support groups near me in Stafford. I am feeling very isolated, alone and desperate to find someone to talk to that can relate. Most support groups seem to be for specific conditions but I am living with no known diagnosis. I'm a wheelchair user with neurological symptoms among other problems.

Welcome to the community @LKRT :) It's great to have you with us.

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling lonely at the moment. I hope that the community can help to ease this feeling a little, as many of our members will be able to relate to your experiences. As Alex1970 has helpfully pointed out, we have a category for discussions relating to neurological conditions that might be of interest to you. You can view the other categories of discussion we facilitate on the category page. I'd definitely recommend popping into the coffee lounge for a chat!

Have you been in touch with your local council to see if they have any groups or events that you could attend? It seems as though they have something called Staffordshire Connects, which could help you to find something local to you?

Thank you very much everyone for being so welcoming. I have looked into Stafford Connects and contacted a few places. I've just moved here so don't know the area.

    That's good to hear @LKRT :)

Another good way of finding groups in your area is through using sites such as meetup.com. I've seen groups especially for disabled people on there before, so it could be worth having a look. It can be difficult meeting new people when you've just moved to a new area, but it's good that you're hoping to put yourself out there!

Hi @LKRT - & welcome to the community from me too. :)  There are different groups for disabled people/wheelchair users in the following link, which I hope may also be helpful. Please see: https://www.ableize.com/disabled-groups-and-clubs-by-county/staffordshire/

    Hi @LKRT

Welcome to the community, I would echo what the others have said about the local council, they will know what events or groups are going on in your local area. Hope you enjoy being a part of the community :)
