As promised previously, here is information on how you can join in the fun at this year's festival!

The very first Love Abilities Virtual Sexuality and Disability Festival was held in October 2020. The original festival was organised by Dr Martha Lee, a relationship counsellor, sexologist and sexuality educator from Singapore; with Michelle Donald, Psychosexual Therapist from the UK, and Dr Mitchell Tepper, Sexuality Educator and Coach from the U.S..

The 2021 festival is being organised by Co-Chairs Dr Mitchell Tepper and Lorraine Stanley, a Disability and Sex Training Consultant from the UK, together with a collective of volunteers that attended the original festival.

Our mission? To provide people, with all types of disabilities, the knowledge, skills, and resources to take pleasure in their sexuality and to clear a pathway for optimal sexual expression.

Our vision? People with disabilities will be empowered to lead the fullest sexual lives possible; and for their caregivers, lovers and allies to help support or be part of their life.

We are working to change the belief that intimate relationships, pleasurable sensations, orgasm and ecstatic states are not possible for those with physical disabilities.

In addition, we will equip participants with an array of tips, techniques and tools so as to enjoy sex and express their sexuality with confidence and ease. We seek to fill the gaps in the lack of sexual education and positive role models when it comes to sexuality and disability.

The online nature of our festival allows participants from all over the world to connect with others easily. To ensure that the sessions are dynamic and interactive, our speakers and facilitators are all experts in their field.

Come join us and embark on a new learning journey!

How It Works

There will be 24 sessions, across 3 days, with over 45 presenters internationally. To keep up-to-date on festival activities, ticket holders can check our Online Event Page on Eventbrite. Ticket holders will also be invited to join a closed Facebook group. It’s a welcoming community of people with diverse backgrounds – all connected by their interest in our favourite subject!

Everybody is welcome to get social with us (& keep up-to-date on our adventures) on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram!

Live captioning will be available for all recordings. This year we aim to have an information sheet in an easy- to- read format for people with intellectual/learning disabilities (we know these suit other groups of people as well!).

We want to provide sign language interpreters (BSL & ASL) for as many sessions as possible, and we are currently seeking funding for this.

We are mindful of balancing the needs of attendees that have to use the chatbox function, with the needs of attendees for whom the chatbox function interferes with screen readers.
