Only problem I had recently is the price, my local firm has put its prices up, used to be 4 pound for a 2 mile journey now up to 7 pound. I'd rather not use them and didn't book it.

I have to use taxis as I can't walk to my nearest bus stop and I've had similar problems to you @marybottomley.  I have to have a normal low car as I have to get in backwards, lay along the back seat and then lift my feet in.  I've stopped using a couple of firms because they always send a big people carrier.

When I've complained I always get insolence from the drivers, usually moaning that 'other disabled people can get in with no problem, I don't know why you can't!'

If I prebook for appointments, it's rare that they turn up on time.

We use taxis all the time, most if not all have plastic screens between the driver and passengers, the big problem has been recently that during lockdown lots of drivers went off and found other employment and their licences expired, usually we wait 10 minutes for a cab more recently it's been half an hour.

Having said that we have been visiting daughter and grandson who live in a major city, we had two cabs today and she uses Uber waited less than five minutes for both.
I would imagine cab drivers are as "fit and healthy" as the rest of us.
