Washing Machine Delivery & Fitting

Hi,
I'm just looking for reviews/experiences with different companies delivering and fitting a washing machine. Ideally I need as tight a delivery timescale as possible, and it must be fitted quickly as possible and done correctly first time.
I've been trying to make my current washing machine last until I can move, so that I could just have a new one delivered straight to the new place before I move in. However, the machine is really on it's last legs now and moving doesn't look possible any time soon, so I'm having to try and work out a way to have it replaced if & when the time comes.
Most of you will know I can't deal with any person (including relatives) face to face, let alone entering my property. I can't use telephones at all. And I'm no longer physically strong enough to move a machine alone. Clearly this is not an ideal situation!!
I will also add, I had a fridge freezer delivered 6 months ago which was an awful experience in my situation. Then on top of that, the guys had wedged it so tightly into the gap that I couldn't open the doors, clearly it wasn't useable like that. Unfortunately having the delivery people in made me so ill I wasn't able to check it until a few hours afterwards...and then had to go through the whole ordeal again a week later to have it swapped with a smaller model. I really can't cope with a repeat of that for a new washing machine! I will be measuring more carefully this time but also don't really trust the fitters from that company now. I can't go through having a separate delivery and fitting either so it needs to all be done in one go. Oh, and I live up one flight of stairs so it takes 2 people to lift a machine, it can't be done with one person & a sack barrow.
Thanks

My only recent delivery experience with a large item and fitting was Curry’s. This was a delivered item with fitting at the same time. Timeframe wise though I believe you have to pay extra to get a more specific time slot, however it’s still a 4 hour time slot.Edit - AO.com do delivery & installation together too from what I remember, but again, it’s a 4/5hour time slot.1

Hi
I had a washer from direct appliances they delivered fitted and took old one away though you do pay extra for this
Also used ao.com and comet before for large appliances1 -
Thanks all.

Has anyone used John Lewis for this service? I'm not sure if they have their own fitters or outsource to another company.0 -
@OverlyAnxious according to their information they fit at the same time.1

Thanks Mark, but I didn't explain that well. I meant I wasn't sure if the 'delivery partners' were from another shop (such as AO or Currys etc) and just sold through the JL site or whether they have their own teams to do it. I just feel like John Lewis shoppers might have higher expectations so training might be a bit different for their fitters.MarkM88 said:@OverlyAnxious according to their information they fit at the same time.0 -
@OverlyAnxious maybe an email would help? That way you can ask them whatever you need to know?0

Could do. Though I spent much of this year sending emails about appliances, cars, support services, technical info, health services, housing etc...and never seemed to be understood with any of them! Eventually got a satisfactory reply from one or two places after several emails back & forth but the majority either didn't know or couldn't help.MarkM88 said:@OverlyAnxious maybe an email would help? Seems less hassle and more likely to get an appropriate response to forum posts.

Thanks Mike. With most retailers price matching and similar fitting reviews, there doesn't seem to be a clear cut choice. I guess it'll come down to stock levels and delivery availability when the time comes.Username_removed said:John Lewis use their own people. Like everything else there are mixed outcomes. I found little difference between them and AO.0 -
I tend to use ao.com following a recommendation and a major let down by Argos. I've never had a problem with them although I've never had an item fitted, its usually just a plug in job.0
