Hi all! Looking for electric wheelchair recommendations for someone with long covid. Something foldable, light (around 25kg) and reasonably priced. Any recommendations welcome. One option being considered is from MobilityPlus+

Hello @alm123
Welcome to the community, thanks for joining and introducing yourself.
Sorry to hear you have long Covid, have you spoken with your GP about your symptoms and sought their recommendations? It seems as though it's something impacting a lot of people around the country, but that knowledge and treatments for it still have some way to go.
I have moved your query over to our Aids, Adaptations and Equipment category, and have tagged it as unanswered. I look forward to seeing any recommendations that other members may have.1 -
Hi @alm123 thanks for your query and welcome to the community.
Some brands of powerchair you might like to research are: i-Go, Quickie, and Dashi, searching for these, plus the term "folding powerchair", should help you find some options to compare.
I wish you all the best in your search, and keep us updated with how you get on

Hi @alm1123 - & welcome to the community. MobilityPlus+ seems a good option. The cheapest price I could find is on ebay for £669.99: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123735268542?hash=item1ccf325cbe:g:O~YAAOSw1ZZfYS7VThere's the Vonoya W5213, apparently it weighs 43kg, but a good price at £600 from Amazon.

Hi,
I have an Alber Esprit 4NG. It's not ideal if you're a full time user, certainly not without specialist seating, but it folds up relatively well. I could fit mine in the boot of a Corsa when I dismantled it fully. Now I have a small SUV with a boot hoist and it fits in there with the wheels on. You can get them on eBay at a good price.0 -
I’ve been using a folda-light- Trekker motion healthcare.
It folds into a boot but it’s heavy. It’s a two person lifting into a car job. 28kgThey are good chairs. I go into the woods, off road. It’s great in dry conditions. It isnt clumpy so great going around shops etc. it’s got good suspension.
I’d say it’s good for short periods/ a day out. If you were using it full time I’d say a more supportive chair is needed.I’m a full time wheelchair user and it’s painful sitting for extended time
i got mine on a 3 year rental it’s around £110. It is expense but it has given me my freedom. If you get PIP you can get a folding wheelchair with the mobility scheme. They are expensive. Although they give you some freedoms.I’ve used it a year and have just be told I’m getting a powerchair from the wheelchair service.I will have to keep it for a while partly as I do not have a WAV. I can’t afford to get a car right now. The folding chairs fit in almost any car.0
