    Hi,
Whether there will be any entitlement to UC when you’re living together will totally depend on both of your circumstances. If you have savings/capital of more than £16,000 then you’ll be excluded from claiming.
People do continue to claim UC while they work.
Use a benefits calculator and put both of your details into it and it will tell you whether there’s any entitlement. Or you can get a full benefits check done from an advice agency near you.

When you move in together you need to report this to UC. Your partner will then need to claim UC also and his claim will be linked to yours so that they can calculate your entitlement based on your joint circumstances.

Do you receive Daily Living PIP? Does your award include the LCWRA element?

If your PIP includes the daily living part then your partner will be able to claim carers element of UC for looking after, providing someone else isn't already claiming this or Carers allowance for looking after you.
You will also have the work allowance of either £557 per month if you don't claim for help with the rent or £335 if you do. This means your partner will be able to earn this amount each month before any deductions apply.
You can use the benefits calculator above to check if there's any entitlement. Or speak to an advice agency near you for a full benefits check.
