So many of his songs just take me back to growing up. Lets not forget Jim Steinman who wrote many of his songs, died last year.  I can't choose 1 song tbh; so many songs so many Lyrics.

Amazing to think that Steinman and Meat Loaf had immense difficulty finding a record company willing to sign them. According to Meat Loaf's autobiography, the band spent most of 1975, and two-and-a-half years, auditioning Bat Out of Hell being rejected.  After numerous further rejections, the album was released in October 1977. The album was an immediate success in Australia and the United Kingdom, and later in the United States.

AND THE REST IS HISTORY!  Heaven is rocking tonight!

It was widely known that he was asthmatic.

As for favourite song, well there are so many, but his version of Home By Now/No Matter What, was truly atmospheric!  Closely followed by Is Nothing Sacred.  What a voice!

Rest in peace, Meat, your music will keep on rockin!

It is sad news. I always liked 'I'd do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)', mainly because we never knew what "that" was, it was a mystery!
