Carers Credit

I'm hoping someone can help with the following questions as thinking my partner may be able to apply for carers credit.

For background, my partner is currently unemployed (looking for part time work but been out of work for 7 years so under the working health programme to get him back in which may take some time, he looks after me pretty much full time). We receive a standard UC benefit and housing element towards rent. We have no children. I am self employed, working from home with average £100 earnings a month and no NI contributions.

1) I read that it helps towards the pension, therefore are there monthly payments to be paid out by us, which effectively reduces our monthly income?

2) does it effect being on UC? I know carers allowance does but not 100% sure that carers credit does

3) can this help reduce the pressure on my partner to look for work? He does want a job and as I said is actively doing something about it but just wondering if it reduces his commitments. Some weeks he has to explain there are no more jobs left to apply for, which they are being great about but would just take the pressure off us if they didn't check in every week. No worries if not.

4) are there any other cons that could be as a result of getting the credit that aren't mentioned in the above questions?

To claim carers credits you need to be in receipt of a disability benefit such as PIP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care.
I note from another thread that you have applied for PIP but haven’t yet had a decision is that correct? If so then once a decision is made if your awarded at least daily living part your partner will be able to claim Carers element of UC and then they will not have to look for work.

If you are claiming UC you are already both getting Class 3 NI credits towards your future State Pension.
