My question: The form only asks if there are any CHANGES and only has space for one sentence answers. They don’t have my original answers so do I include these and then explain changes?
Also my award isn’t due to end for another 6 months. If I don’t return this on time will it just stop early or continue the 6 months?

Very astute of you @mikehughescq, yes I claim for a mixture of mental health difficulties and some physical problems.

I also wondered, I got a 2 year award last time but I really can’t go through this every two years.I claimed DLA for many years but it stopped when things changed to PIP and I was in such a bad way and my community mental health support had stopped so I had no help so gave up. So claimed nothing between 2018-2020 because I finally found support I could access in order to help me claim. Can I mention any of this to help request a longer award? Is there a good way to word it?0

Uh oh facebook. May i ask if you were charged for the help they gave you last time? You don't need to mention anything regarding what happened last time, this is a new assessment.Yes, you can post on here once you've written something and i'm sure someone will tell you if you're on the right track. What they're looking for is real life incidents that have happened to you.0

No I wasn’t charged and they were properly registered charity. I’ve heard about places that charge which is really sad.
I’ll put my answers to the communicating question below. I would really appreciate some help knowing if I am on right track with how I answer? My rep last time did give me a copy of what they sent but I’m not very organised and lost it and don’t know how to ask them for replacement or if they even keep it. So I can’t use theirs to help me0 -

I don’t know if I should add that I can communicate better by messages like this and written form or if it isn’t relevant? It still isn’t always reliable because I worry what other people think or about being rude or upsetting them. It’s easier here because nobody knows who I am lol0

Sorry it was longer than intended. If it’s rubbish or not relevant please tell me though.I would really please like some feedback so I don’t get it wrong. Do my examples count for anecdotal evidence or are they too short or too long or just rubbish or not detailed enough? Thank you0

Username_removed said:This is genuinely interesting. First of all it’s very well written. My next reaction was that your description better fits the social engagement descriptor. On reflection I think that’s not right. You score points on communication because although you’ve no issues with understanding you do have a clear problem which requires another person to interpret for you to others.

Thank you, that is super helpful. My problem isn’t with understanding, it’s overthinking and not being able to communicate myself, particularly verbally. I freeze, flap or fawn. I can understand others just fine (although my better half would say I over analyse them and often misinterpret meaning because I assume everyone is against me!)[Removed by moderator at request of poster]0

Even if i ask her a question, a lot of the time she will say "i think so"My daughter is going through the assessment process for autism and adhd at the moment and I’ve realised I think a lot of my issues might have been wrongly attributed to mental health and anxiety. I relate so much to everything my daughter does and the more I’ve researched about her conditions there more I’m convinced I am somewhere on the spectrum too. There’s no denying I have poor mental health now and severe anxiety but I do think maybe some may be attributed the undiagnosed and unsupported autism and adhd0

Sorry another question: if it arrives with them a few days before it’s due back but not scanned into their system for a while will that then be classed as late or do they look at date they received it?0
-
My daughter has Autism, learning disability and social anxiety disorder. It's not classed as arriving until it's been scanned onto the computer and this can take a couple of weeks, sometimes. When you return the forms ask for "proof of posting" which is free from any post office. Do not pay extra for signed for delivery because it won't be signed by anyone from DWP, it will be signed by someone from Royal Mail.0
