Reassessment. I think I need to go for an MR. Will Citizens Advice do this for me, or do I need to?

I have Multiple Sclerosis diagnosed in 2007.jI was reassessed just last month for Pipo after previously three years ago going through two pip appeals and being granted standard rate for both mobility. for home living. In December last year exactly the same again awarded, standard rate for three years. I don't drive a car anymore but I did pre four years ago. My question therefore is will I continually be awarded this even though citizen advice have calculated my points to be over the standard capability standard rate award which was sent to the DWP. I was then assessed by Capita 10/12/2021. Citizens advice said I should ask for Mandatory Reconsideration., I don't know whether citizens advice are doing for me or do I have to?. The stress is overwhelming for me as it takes me back to three years ago not being awarded  anything and appealing the decision not once but twice as I was refused first time on appeal too.
Do I just contact Citizens Advice to confirm they are doing this for me or just leave it?
Many thanks

Hi @Blue1967 -  the decision of course is yours if you want to proceed with a Mandatory Reconsideration, then contact Citizens Advice if you want their help with it, but you can easily do this yourself.

First have a look again at the activities/descriptors that are looked at with PIP to see where you feel you might gain sufficient points to increase your award: https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/asset-library/Personal-Independence-Payment-Descriptors-and-Scores-April-2021.pdf

Then give a couple of recent, detailed examples as to the difficulty you face for each applicable descriptor, i.e. when did it happen, where, what happened, did anyone see this, & were there any consequences to attempting/doing an activity?

Say if you can't do an activity 'reliably,' i.e. safely, to an acceptable standard, repeat as often as one would reasonably expect, or if it takes you much longer than someone without a disability. See this mentioned at the end of the link above.

I feel it would also be reasonable to say that a 10 year award is needed due to your MS (so hopefully you wouldn't have to go through PIP reviews as often).

Put your MR in writing, then get a free Certificate of Posting from your Post Office when sending it off. A MR, as you probably know, should usually be done within a month of the date on your decision letter, but can also be done within 13 months with good reason. Hope some of this helps.
