Hi bit gutted have to let my electric chair go , the weight is not right I am over the weight limit , because my flat as very narrow doors the bigger chair would have not gone through the door , so spoken to the mobility scheme, they have shown me , a smaller scooter that goes through my door but still hits arms on door frame witch still rip the arms so they can come off being in the house that's the best thing about this scooter plus it's way over my weight so I won't have a problem with it 🥺 it we'll restrict what I'm capable of doing not being able to use the electric chair anymore which is really the downfall of all of this it will take away my independence with allowing me to clean keep me going doing simple things 🥺

Hi @Ashvinney,
I'm sorry to hear that this is happening -- it can be so frustrating when it feels like nobody is taking responsibility for helping you maintain the best quality of life, too. Do you have any contact with social care? I would suggest asking to see if they might be able to place you in more accessible accommodation, though I understand that the waiting list is probably too long to be helpful. When your ability is limited, I know how heartbreaking it can be when the things you *are* able to do independently get taken away & I want to thank you for being vulnerable about it here. Although there are no quick fixes in situations like this, here's a reminder that your worth is not defined by how able you are to live independently. You are still a full and complete person. I see you0 -
I am in very sheltered housing , as I need care 24hours a day with my diagnosis and siezuire0

That makes sense. Do you know when you’re going to be changing to a scooter? Has that happened already? I hope that you’ll be given some time to adjust & are able to get access to the care you need. Is it possible for you to leave the flat for a couple of hours, with help from a carer? The pandemic makes all of this stuff harder, too, I know. But please remember that you deserve to have your needs looked after, even though it might not necessarily look as you expected. Always here if you need to vent0
