Wow just had the phone call i was dreading in away. Was finally diagnosed before Christmas with spinal stenosis, the consultant said it had gone to far a thought i'd need a fusion operation. He spoke to the surgeon last week and he agrees to the operation, i'm really frightened now any one else on here had this please.

Hi @SueHeath thanks for sharing your news, I can appreciate that it must feel quite frightening, have you been able to speak to the consultant any further about your concerns, or perhaps your GP, or someone you trust?
It might help to write down a list of questions you'd like to know more about, or things which are concerning you most, so that you can bring them up when you next speak with the consultant or surgeon.
Do you have a date set for the operation yet? At least there's a sense of certainty that something will be happening, which can help you feel more prepared, and it's arguably better than still waiting for a decision.
To help our members share their own experiences I've marked your post as unanswered and edited the title slightly. If you need help with anything else in the meantime, please do ask

Thanks @Alex_Scope yep i spoke to the consultant about my concerns, he's looking at my age, better now then later. Yep he did say the first meeting with surgeon is to discuss all and i'm taking my husband with me. I know i should be grateful of intervention but i am worried about it, i've just been thinking " i'm better now i'm not at work" ha ha

I'm glad your husband can come with you to the consultation, having someone there for support makes all the difference. Keep us updated with how things go, and have a lovely eveningOnline Community Coordinator
