Hi, I am supporting a 13 year old with CP and she would like to talk to someone about her personal identity as she is finding it hard to meet people with life experiences in common with hers. Are there any groups/forums that we can look at together?

Hi @Fin
We have many members living with CP, including myself and I would be more than happy to have a chat with you and see how I can help.Scope

Thanks so much for your quick responses. I will share this with her next week and we can get back to you together, if she wants to do so.

Hello @Fin thanks for joining the community, and welcome.
I also have CP, so would be happy to share my own experiences. Thinking back to my 13 year old self, I can certainly relate.
You're quite welcome to have a browse of the CP category here on the forum too. If you've got any questions, even if just about the forum, let us know

Hiya @Fin,
I'm just dropping by to say that I'd also be more than happy to share my experiences with CP. Also: thanks so much for reaching out to the community about this. It's so valuable to have this kind of support if you're growing up disabled and I'm sure she's really grateful to have you in her life, tooCommunity Volunteer Host (she/her) with a passion for writing and making the world a better place for disabled people to exist. -
Thank you all so much for your support - I will let you know how it goes

Hey @Fin,
I'm glad our members and staff could help with your query
I've also just had a look at our Scope Cerebral Palsy for teenagers and young adults online section and there's a few great resources on there, including CP Teens UK. The aim of CP Teens UK, is to help, hope, inspire and create friendship for children & young people with Cerebral Palsy and similar physical disabilities.
I hope the above is helpful and please reach out to us again if there's any other questions that you want to ask us.
