Hello everyone,
After reporting a worsening condition
I was given the same award, standard daily living, but for a longer period.
I requested an MR and have now been awarded standard mobility as well, for inability to go out due to overwhelming psychological distress.
Although the award was for untill April 24 instead of late 2025, is this usual?
Also I thought I should have recieved 4 points for needing support to mix with other people but was awarded 2 points for prompting as the dm said needing my brother with me didn't count as it had to be the support of a proffesional or experienced person.
I want to argue the fact that my brother being with me is the experienced person.
So can I ask? Is it common for the length of an award to be reduced following mr?
Also, before I appeal at what stage should I ask for rep at any tribunal and are you definitely warned if you risk losing any or all award?
Thank you

For support from another perosn, it can be anyone and not just an experienced/professional person. The activity is engaging with others face to face. There were some changes that took place for this and there's some guidance here. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/images/image/samples/PIP_engage_changes.pdfMy daughter scored 4 points in the activity for needing support/assistance from myself and/or her sister.I wouldn't say it was usual for them to reduce the length of the award at this stage. If you're not happy then it's Tribunal.

Thanks for taking the time @poppy123456
Hope you're well.
I'm thinking of appealing, but wondering at what stage should I ask for a representative?
Also, does anyone know if they always warn you first if you risk losing any or all of an award?
Thank you0 -
You can request the Tribunal and then see about representation. https://advicelocal.uk/ If there's a risk of losing what you already have they will warn you.I'm ok thanks @Cress. I hope you are too!
