I applied for a backdated payment for carers element. I have been successful. BUT
How long does it usually take to receive payment?

    Hi,
    First they need to recalculate your past statements to work out exactly how much they owe you. Once this is done you'll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much they owe you. Once payment is sent it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank account.
    Do be aware that once your statements have been recalculated they will be replaced with the new ones so you will lose your existing ones. If you want to have copies of the ones you have now then you should do this now.

    Thank you. I have already waited 6 weeks but still no letter on the journal. 
    Just struggling as partners ESA has stopped as we are appealing his LCRW assessment.

    The ESA stopping won't make any difference financially anyway because it's deducted in full from your UC entitlement, unless of course this was a reassessment and he was previously claiming the LCWRA element.
    Put a message under the payment section and ask about the money that's owed for the carers element.

    They stopped the payment after my UC was paid. So money is down now until next UC payment.

    Yes, claiming both of those together does help to budget better because the ESA is paid fortnightly.
