Help with driving lessons/finding instructor?

Hi Everybody,
I neee to get driving by September to get my eldest daughter to school in a different town, while my partner takes our youngest to her more local school. But I don't want to go through the Motability scheme. We already have a suitable vehicle, my partner drives, and I've been told we must sign up for a motability car to get the help with lessons.
The other issue is that I'm 6ft8, about 30st with significant lower limb mobility issues so most instructors vehicles are not suitable. I need quite a high seat and a lot of leg room.
Can someone help me find out if there's other help with lessons? Or help me find a suitable instructor in the Liverpool area. I'm really struggling to find what I need.

You were correctly informed about help with driving lessons through motability. You need to be a customer of theirs, with a vehicle in your name or be waiting for delivery of a vehicle within 4 months.https://www.motability.org.uk/charitable-grants/access-to-mobility-grant-programmes/driving-lessons/I'm not aware of any other grants for help with the cost of driving lessons.I've done a google search of driving instructors in Liverpool and found some, here are just a few.You can also do a google search yourself to see what others you can find. Can't advise on what cars they actually use and for this you would need to contact them to ask.

Hello @Vidarsbane thanks for your question.
I'm not sure on the rules around using your own vehicle while you're learning, I can look further into this for you, but these rules about using your own car in the driving test can be found on the GOV.uk website.
It might be worth enquiring with the instructors poppy has shared, about whether you'd be allowed to undertake the lessons in your own car.
Let me know if I can help any further, or if there's anything you're still unsure of at the moment.

Forgive my delay in responding, I've contacted the above instructors and have been told the same thing that they're not insured to teach me in my own vehicle unless its motability, and that unfortunately they don't think they've got a suitable vehicle for me.
Despite my concerns, I've actually spoken with motability and decided to apply for the scheme0 -
Is there anything in particular you're concerned about regarding the Motability scheme @Vidarsbane?0
