Poem called Gather
- A young man called Rod had a fear to gather around new people he did not know
- He use to cower behind a pillar
- One you started to hear a voice in his head
- It felt like grey clouds were beginning to gather above his head.
- This affects his life
- Even his wife had threatened to leave if did not get help with his head.
- Rod had a dread of going to see in his Gp own
- So wife called Joan who was Rod rock in life
- Rod and Joan went to see their Gp.
- Who made the referral to the referral to Mind charity.
- Once Rob was able to talk to one of Minds group sessions.
- As they shared their experiences facing difficulties with their mental health.
- Rod felt a sense of relief being able to share his experience with the group.
- The group never let heads drop.
- Rodlike the other group members listened to each other difficulties.
- The support group gather on a weekly basics
- Rod got used to the group members' faces.
- As his fears were put to rest
- As the weeks went by.
- Rod had started again and his passion for drawing stopped feeling depressed.
- His drawings expressed how he was feeling each day.
- Each week when the group gather Rod showed his artwork off to the groups
- Rod was told his artwork was beautiful.
- One of the group members asked Rob if he’d ever thought about getting his artwork shown at his local art gallery.
- Rod says he never thought about it before
- The dark clouds began to lift from Rod's life.
- Joan Rod’s wife was so proud that the Mind support group had brought positive change to his life.
- He put negative thoughts to the back of his mind
- Rob keeps in touch with group members even after leaving the support group.
- As the support group decided to gather for soup and bread to see how each other were feeling and dealing with their depression.
- Rod sobbed with happy tears and joy told group members of his achievement of getting his artwork shown in a local art gallery.
- As the group members all went to see Rod work at his local art gallery.
- He felt free when he saw the exhibition of his artwork.
- Rod told the group members we also gather to see what each is doing and pursuing in life.
- Rod said it's truly amazing how I have built a friendship from the support group.
- Minds charity support groups are still gather every week with new members joining every week.
- Rod created a piece of artwork to raise money for the Mind charity.
- Rod says it is important to keep our minds well.
- Rod, I am excelling in my art.
- Rob said I say big thanks to the Mind Charity, helped to get my mind well again.
