julez39 said:Thank you. This is different information I was giving from the UC . They said am owed money right back to the date I put fit note in am so confused . I’ve never been unfit for work before so this is all I new process for me as I was understanding that lwc was around a payment of £128 .UC are not correct. If the decision's been made then you need to check to see exaclty what that decision is. If it's limited capability for work (LCW) then there's no extra money each month. The extra money for this doesn't apply to claims after April 2017. If the decision letter says "if we owe you money" then that's a standard letter sent to everyone. It doesn't mean they owe you money. If it's LCWRA then you will receive an extra £343 per month as advised here.poppy123456 said:julez39 said:Hi I am new here and not sure how to post , I am currently on UC since April 2020 . I recently put in fit notes from September 28th with no gaps till now . Received my WCA on Tuesday 2nd March . Do you know if I will be paid any backdated pay . My assessment period is the 14th - 13 of each month .If you are found to have LCWRA then you will be paid the extra money from the 4th month of your claim starting from when you reported your health condition. This means that you reported your health condition in assessment period 14th September to 13th October. Your waiting period will be Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan, LCWRA starts from AP 14th Jan to 13 Feb with first payment being 20th Feb so 1 month is owed up to now.If found to have LCW then there's no extra money each month.0

Did you check to see exactly what the decision was? If you're not happy you can request the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR)

Does this apply to Scotland and England . ?0

julez39 said:Does this apply to Scotland and England . ?Yes, the rules are national. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/help/universal_credit_work_capability_assessmentNew UC claims from 3 April 2017 onwards, and existing UC claimants whose circumstances change after 3 April 2017 so they are newly placed in the LCW group, are not awarded the extra amount called the LCW element as it was abolished. You will still be eligible for the work allowance and your work-related requirements will take account of this, you just won't get the increase in your award.

It should be added to your next statement.

Thanks, do they sometimes forget to add it? Or It takes a while to add? As I notified UC last Monday before my assessment period ended on Friday and it’s not on statement today0

(Note that you will not get the carer element if you already get the LCWRA element for yourself.)0 -
Ok thanks for info! Does it take a long time to correct once I send message in journal/or call them? Do they need to verify that the cared for is on PIP first? Sorry for questions0
