Constant coughing and spitting, is this common amongst other dysphagia sufferers?

My father suffered a stroke in August last year and also caught pneumonia whilst still in Hopsital (October). This has caused him to lose his ability to swallow and is now being fed via a PEG. He does cough quite a lot and spits out close to 3/4 of a litre of saliva every day. Is this common amongst other dysphagia sufferers? Patches and carbocisteine don't appear to make any difference.

Hi,I'm afraid we are not medical prefessionals so we won't be able to give you any medical advice. If you or your father have any concerns you should speak to his GP.2

Hi thanks for the reply I was just wondering if there were other people in a similar position who could comment if they experience this.0

hi thank you for all your comments, I have spoken to various GPs about my fathers' condition and I understand what's happening. I guess I was looking to see if there were other people who recognise this so I didn't feel like it was just my father going through it. I wasn't clear enough on my initial thread that it was other people's experiences that I was interested in, not necessarily medical advice. sorry.0

Morning @joegarlic thanks for explaining what support you're looking for here on the community. Have you found teddybear12's reply helpful at all?
To help any members with similar experience share their thoughts, I've edited the title of the thread slightly.
If there's anything else we can help with in the meantime please don't hesitate to ask
