So as mentioned in a previous post of mine waiting for gait lab which is 28th March
but my mum does all my finances she has for a very long time. We had issues at the bank and following that we had adult social care contact my mum about me and now someone Is trying to make a meeting for a occupational therapist to assess me. I’m scared as I don’t really know what all this means and I’m unsure what will happen has anyone else had a occupational therapy assessment? Will they stop my mum from helping me?

An Occupuational Therapist is there to help you, not take away any help you already receive from your Mum. They will just assess your needs to see if any further help can be given. It's nothing at all to worry about.Personal experience over the years have only been good for me with OT's.1

Hi and welcome to the community
I am presuming this is a care needs assessment by a ot from social services. If so they will come and assess your needs and make recommendations on what care you need including aids and adaptions and then report what you need to the appropriate services
They won't stop your mum caring for you
This is a positive step to ensure you get the care you need1 -
Ok that’s good to know. My anxiety is really bad over it. Would you mind explaining to me what will happen? Sorry to be a pain0

Teddy bear still waiting but I think it’s soon as she asked mum if she wants to be there but mum hasn’t said they made a plan yet1

You will be asked various questions about your health conditions and how they affect you. No one can tell you exactly what they will ask because everyone will be different.
All you need to remember is they are there to help you and not to make your life worse.0 -
But they won’t like have to touch me and stuff? Odd question I just don’t feel comfortable with strangers and I especially hate people I don’t know in my home0
