Universal credit have not given National Insurance credits

I am looking for advice.
I was on Universal Credit from January 2019 until February 2022, 3 years.
When I checked my National Insurance contributions online, I found no credits since March 2019 when I was assessed as unable to work or prepare for work.
I contacted HMRC and they said they couldn't do anything that I should contact Universal Credit, which I did by phone. I can't contact them using the online journal as I have recently closed my claim.
I explained the situation on the phone but no-one has got back to me.
Do you know what I can do now? I need my NO record to be correct.
Thank You.

This is a well known issue and you are not the only person. The best advice I can give is to contact your local MP because the more people that do this the quicker it will be resolved.1

I've had no credits for 4 years. I don't think it makes much difference if you ask in your journal. I've been passed to Hmrc and back again, 3 phone calls and numerous entries on my journal. My claim manager has now refused to converse with me and says my NI record will be updated 4 months before State Pension age.
My guess is that is JCP / DWP speak for there's a glitch in the UC system and maybe it will be fixed and we will be able to do it in an unspecified number of years time?
As they are supposed to be credited automatically and my MP isn't making appointments and is useless in any case, I've sent a formal letter of complaint to the DWP by which you can follow a process.
I've heard people have had resolution from the DWP this way, so i'll give you the template to send once I have anything to report.
Shameless as ever.

Has anyone found a resolution to this problem? I have no record of National insurance contributions since march 2019 onwards. Job centre don’t help, HMRC say that DWP need to pass information to HMRC letting them know I have been receiving Universal Credit. But I keep getting passed back and forth. I believe that HMRC are correct, but the DWP and Job Centre keep acting as if they aren’t trained properly as they are no help at all. They don’t seem to know how to pass information to HMRC that I have been getting UC. Any help would be appreciated to move forward and rectify this.0

I have the same issue. My wife and myself work part time. She is my carer and recieves N.I credits. I work predominantly Spring and Summer months as my neuropathic and arthritis make working in Winter months very difficult. I stopped recieving national insurance credits like many others in March 2019. I have only joined Scope community today and am unsure if this is an old topic but I have bombarded universal credit and national insurance office about this issue. Has anybody out there made any progress with this yet0

You and many others are having the same issue. It seems like DWP pass you onto HMRC and then they will pass you back to DWP. Contacting your local MP maybe the best idea.

There is a known problem with UC and HMRC not recording NI credits for UC claimant (I assume the problem is with UC). All they saying at the moment is that they are intending to fix the problem and that in the meantime anybody will get their NI record corrected a few months before reaching pension age.
You can, if you wish, highlight the issue to your MP.0 -
I am struggling with a similar problem. During the corona virus I received Universal Credit for 3 years, I am also missing my credit for the tax years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. They credited the 2021-2022 tax year. I think they did not work properly during the home office, this may be the problem, because as I see this period is problematic for everyone. Now no one is taking responsibility for the omission. I have been fighting with them for 8 months /HMRC, Universal Credit basildon service, DWP / I write letters to HMRC Universal Credit, I call them regularly, no result. DWP ignores, does not respond. In the meantime, 5 months ago I reached the retirement age and because of this problem I could not retire because I am missing these 2 years to have 10 years. So they do not update the register after reaching the retirement age.
