Hi guys after waiting nearly 7 months and months of handing in fit notes I'm finally having a work capability assessment over the phone ! For anybody who's waiting DEFINITELY give them a call and enquire.. I've rang them multiple times to be told they couldn't tell me anything but I called them last week and they booked me an assessment on the phone.. I've chose to have it over the phone due to my mental health! Also I'm really nervous.. Can anybody give me some advice? Alot of the questions seemed to be more physical rather than mental which worries me a little also im wondering what the criteria is for lcw and lcwra? My mental health nurse doctor and therapist all agree I should be in the lcwra group but obviously it's down the assessor to judge that.. Anyway I hope you all okay

Hi,
The LCWRA descriptors apply to those with mental health as well as physical.
There’s also substantial risk which often applies to those with mental health. https://wcainfo.net/issues/substantial-risk-lcwra
The assessor doesn’t make decisions on which group you’re placed into only a decision maker can do that.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hello @LeicesterLad it's okay to be nervous about the assessment. I can understand why seeing a lot of questions relating to physical health rather than mental would be a worry, but the assessment should cover all these things.
You asked about the criteria for LCW and LCWRA, it might be helpful to see the activities listed under LCW and LCWRA on the wcainfo website.
Let me know if there's anything else you'd like help with.
