Pip Back Payment
Hi all.
So I applied for PIP originally in January 2020.
About a month ago I called up to make a new application, but was told there is already an ongoing application.
I now know I will receive an enhanced rate on both daily living and mobility, I also know I will receive my first payment on 14th April.
They told me over the phone that I will receive back payment from October 2020 onwards but was told it was a massive payout of £11,300+.
I have not received any letter yet but was told over the phone 2 days ago that because its such a large payment it needs to be checked by management before sending it to my bank.
Does anyone know how long it takes for a manager to approve back payments?
Many thanks, all the best.

There’s no timescales. Once payment is made it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank.

Thank you. So I'm guessing it could take weeks sometimes for a manager to check the payment?
Thanks.

It’s impossible to answer that question.

So I gave them a call again today. Managed to speak to a manager.
That manager told me that the manager dealing with my back payment will give me a call today and the payment should be processed today.
I will update again when and if the manager calls me.1 -

So they didn't bother to call me back today as they promised.
Called at 4.45pm to be told she's not going to bother trying to contact a manager as its too late.
Don't see the problem as it's just authorising the payment.
DWP failed again. 2.5 years being patent isn't good enough for them.0 -

Why don't you ask them to pay you from January 2020 rather than October 2020.0 -
Spoke to them this morning was promised a callback by end of day didn't get one called about 4.30pm, was put through to a manager. She told me the amount needs to be checked, she said its all correct.
She said something about a cheque to clear or a check to clear don't know if they mean by money to clear or someone needs to check the payment and release it.
Anyway she said I should receive the money by Tuesday but going by their track records I will have to wait and see0 -
I'm glad you managed to speak to a manager @afgzee not too long to wait until Tuesday hopefully1

They don’t do cheques so it’ll be some sort of checking process.0

So just a happy update.
Spoke to a lady this morning my award letter was sent yesterday and the payment is expected to credit on 30th March which is Wednesday, although I should get it earlier as I bank with Monzo.
Thanks all so much for the help and support.0 -
That's great news @afgzee I'm really pleased for you.0
