Hello everyone hope your all well :)
After waiting 7 months I have my work capability assessment on the phone tomorrow and I'm super nervous 😩 I filled in my assessment form to the best of my ability and sent in supporting evidence from my mental health nurse everything is set but I'm so nervous.. Hoping someone can give me some advice maybe someone who has been through the process of a telephone assessment? Anyway I hope you all have a lovely Sunday :)

I had a telephone assessment for the WCA for my daughter last year. I'm her appointee so was able to do the assessment on her behalf. They will ask you questions based on how your conditions affect you and they will want to know what a typical day is like for you.
Try not to answer the questions with just a yes or no and try to give as much information as possible. If you kept a copy of the form you filled in then have a read of that before the assessment, just to remind yourself of what you wrote.
Assessments can last anywhere from 20 - 120 minutes. They may not ring on time so do be aware of that also. Have a drink next to you incase it's needed.

Thanks for sharing your worries @LeicesterLad I'm sure you're not alone in feeling a bit nervous before your assessment. I know I was for my PIP assessment, which was in person, but it's still a scary prospect over the phone too.

The good thing is that you've already prepared really well, as you say you've filled out the form to the best of your ability, and you've posted on here to ask for advice, which is another positive step. Poppy has shared some excellent advice with you, so take things step by step.

Keep us updated with how you get on and try not to dwell on it too much today, it helps to find things to distract yourself when you're feeling overwhelmed.

If you have any other questions do let us know :)
