Hi I’m in support group for esa and get sdp and enhanced daily rate for pip. My daughter is receiving dla she’s 9 can I claim carers for her would it affect any of my payments. Tia

You can claim Carer's Allowance for looking after her provided she gets at least middle rate care component of DLA.
If your ESA is partly contribution based you will not be paid the Carer's Allowance.
If you ESA is entirely income based you will be paid the Carer's Allowance but it will be deducted from your ESA.
In both cases an additional premium (carer premium) will be added to the calculation of your ESA so overall you will get an additional £37.60/week.
You can backdate the CA by 3 months if you wish to (if she was getting DLA throughout that time) or if she was only awarded the DLA in the last three months you can backdate to the date the DLA award starts from.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
