Just thought I’d update this thread. I have my WCA tomorrow. I feel extremely lucky. Let’s just hope I get a good outcome (and that it happens somewhat promptly). Thanks again everyone for your help.

How did you get on @hbean5747? I hope it wasn't too stressful and you've been able to relax a little since your assessment.

Thanks, Adrian. The assessment itself was okay. The person I spoke to was kind and understanding and patient. I’m currently exhausted and in pain, though. I haven’t been able to stop ruminating on it. It’s been non stop. I’m not really a generally anxious person anymore (had terrible panic attacks as a teen) but wow…I cannot turn off my brain. Can’t help but worry that all my efforts will turn to nothing once my file is back in the hands of the DWP.

Just going to try and take it easy. Do whatever I can to try and relax myself, and let it go until I hear back. It may be a rough few weeks but I’ll try and be kind to myself in the meantime.

This is one of the best things you can do @hbean5747, as the days go on it will get easier to shift your focus onto other things :)

Well done for getting through it, and let us know if we can help support you with feeling more relaxed.

Thanks, Alex. The Scope community has been a wonderful support so far so I’m very thankful for it.

It's perfectly normal to feel anxious at this point. For me, the WCA is worse than the PIP one and without fail it always causes me anxiety.
Sometimes people have a decision on their journal within a few days, other times they wait several weeks. Last year my daughter waited about a week.

It’s no wonder so many people take so long to apply for the support they are entitled to. It can take such a toll. I feel like I just got beat up 😅

Indeed. Although to be honest your timescale has been extremely quick compared to a lot of people.

I’m wondering what people’s most recent experiences are with getting a WCA.
For reference, my fit note starts from 12th December and was submitted that say. UC50 is confirmed received. Still waiting for an assessment. Does anyone have an idea how long I expect to be waiting?

My money situation is quite miserable at the moment and even with the 3 month period, I was really hoping that things would be processed quickly. I’m really struggling.
I'm on legacy ESA (WRAG) but was previously in Support Group pre-2018 when I got downgraded. Over a year ago in March 2021 I wrote a letter to DWP, included lots of new evidence with a request for a supersession as I believe I should be back in the Support Group. I returned ESA50 to HAAS in July and I'm still waiting, over nine months they have had the form now. Other people are waiting longer, some people being dealt with quite quickly. That is my situation. I do feel they are dealing with people on UC with a bit more priority.

I don't think that's right at all. It largly depends on the area you live. Their main priority is those waiting for their first assessment, rather than those that are already in either of the groups. I've seen members here waiting a year for their WCA when claiming either UC or ESA.

Welp. Suffered enough the past 5 years so I’m just gonna take the win 👍🏾 Like I already said, I feel lucky. Not gonna feel guilty about it though

I got LCWRA and have cried multiple times since finding out. I knew I qualified but honestly my life has been so full of losses that I don’t know how to handle this win.

Tbh there’s an aspect of it that leaves me conflicted. It confirms the reality that I’ll probably never build the career I dreamed of or be fully independent. But whatever, that’s a me thing I need to work through. I have this win, though, and I feel vindicated.

Great news. Being found to have LCWRA doesn't mean you can't ever work again. There's no limit on the hours you can do whilst claiming this.
It means a portion of your earnings will be ignored before the 55% deductions apply. What you need to be aware of is that if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you were found to have LCWRA then it may go against you at your next review.

Thanks. I may work in the future depending on what my life looks like, it’s just hard to envision that ever happening. And I know that’s okay, if I’m disabled then I’m disabled, but I suppose I’ll think about that if and when the time comes that I’m ready.

    That's great news.

I got lcwra too, I did a loud cheer then sat a cried for the rest of the afternoon. I think after 3 years of stress and worry, I deserved a good bawl.

The relief is immense, knowing I haven't got to go through all the job search and job centre malarkey for a while, and is taking a bit of getting used to.
