Morning All.
I am new to the Scope community, I am a 57 year old male at the age of 7 I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis I have been told to fill a UC50 form I am planning ahead as I know too well the DWP will find me fit for work (even though my Dr says I am not). Any I am planning ahead for MR as this has happened before.
Would it be helpful to my case if was to get letter from my MP for the MR.
Any advice would gratefully accepted.
Don.

Hi,You don't need a letter from your MP if you need to request the MR. Your local MP will have no idea exactly how your health conditions affect you. Before jumping too far ahead you could start with looking at the descriptors for LCW and LCWRA.When you fill out the form you should put as much information as possible, without telling your life story. Add a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted that activity. Include information such as where you were, what exectly happened and what the consequences were.Remember, it's about the work you can do, not the work you can't do.

Thank poppy123456
Now I am confused, this is an extract from a post from this site "Often a letter from an MP will give more weight to a complaint".0 -

I have no idea why anyone would think a letter from an MP will give more weight. If the worst happens you request the MR but right now, you're thinking way too far ahead. What you should concentrate on for now is filling out the form and making sure it's returned do later than the deadline in the letter.0 -

It doesn't matter now because i misread your other comment. You should just concentrate on filling the form in first.

I will do, this is not my first capability for work test it will be my 7th or 8th over the years, so I sort of know what to expect.

Welcome to the community @6Don4
I hope that's been cleared up for you now. The terms can get confusing, but I'm glad calcotti's been able to explain to you the difference between an MR and a complaint.
Best of luck with your claim! Please do keep us updated.
For future reference, you can post a link by pasting a link into the comment box directly. If you'd like to link some text, you can highlight the text and then click the 'URL' icon that looks like a little chain link, to the right of the emoji icon. You can then paste the link into the URL box and click 'OK'. The look of the comment box might be changing shortly, but that should work for nowI hope that makes sense.

Have you ever successfully been found to have either LCW or LCWRA?

Not on UC, but before I was put on UC I was on ESA and before that Incapacity benefit I have been on some sort of disability benefit since I left school.

The work capability assessment for UC is exactly the as it was for ESA. LCWRA is ESA Support Group. LCW is WRAG. The descriptors are identically and links for both are posted above.
