Hi Folks
I will have a phone appointment coming up in the next few weeks to determine if I qualify for any payments.
Can someone kindly advice on the best way to prepare for this?
Thank You

Hello @geek84 and thanks for asking, that's the best first step in preparing for your phone appointment
Do you have a copy of the form you sent to the DWP to start your application? It's good to have that with you to refer to.
Another thing a lot of people find helpful is to write down detailed examples of how your condition impacts your ability to carry out each of the descriptors. Having notes next to you is a good way of making sure you go through everything you need to without forgetting anything.
You can practice reading through them with another person to help get ready. Remember it's not a race, and you can take your time speaking. You can have another person sit with you for support during the call as well, but they can't answer for you.
I hope that's helpful, and do say if you're still unsure of anything. All the best for the appointment, and let us know how you get on.

Hi Alex
Many thanks for your advice.
Yes I do have a copy of the application form.0 -
That's good to hear @geek84
Have you had a read through it?
It can also be a good idea to remind yourself of the descriptors, if you haven't already.
Two other small things that tend to help people to feel more comfortable are making sure your phone is fully charged, and preparing a drink and small snack to have with you during the call.1 -
