UC phone me to say they're looking at WCA. I'm confused, as I've already been through that for PIP

Hi everyone I’m receiving PIP enhanced rate for both categories. UC phoned me to say they are looking at something called WCA?
as I’m unable to work. Apparently I’ll need an assessment but I’ve already been through all that for PIP. I’m completely confused now by it all 🤨

Hello @TonyPerry
Thanks for your post. What a great question too! It sounds like this is making you feel confused and potentially nervous, understandably.
Unfortunately, this is not an area of my expertise. This means I can only hope someone with more knowledge in this area is able to respond to you soon.
In the meantime, I just wanted to respond to let you know we hear you and are here for you

Hi and welcome to the community
Pip is completely different benefit and not related to your ability to work as uc is . People claim pip and work
The wca process is similar to pip but with diffetent criteria the wca looks at your ability to undertake any type of work. Until the process is complete you are deemed a job seeker
Once a decision is made following an assessment if you are awarded the highest category of lcwra there will be no work commitments and an additional payment on your uc1 -
Thanks @janer1967 for offering your support. I knew I could count on you! All your support is recognised and really appreciated. Please remember we are here for you too though if you need anything

Hi @TonyPerry
It can all get a bit confusing, can't it? I hope that janer1967's answer has cleared that up for you. For reference, here are the PIP descriptors (pipinfo.net), and here's some information about the work capability assessment (Turn2Us). As janer1967 has explained, the WCA is about your capability to undertake work, whereas PIP is about mobility and daily living. I hope that makes sense! If you have any further questions, please do ask. 1 -
