Hi i applied for pip mid janauary 2022 and have my phone assement today. I suffer from PTSD/Drepession/severeAnxiety.
So my disability is not physical and is purely mental health orientated. I have my assesment in 6 hours. And havent had a wink of sleep. I am currently prescribed 2 drugs for my condition which are of high dosages. I havent got no one who will sit through the assement with me and havent asked for it to be recorded and i have heard of nightmare stories where people have been treated so bad. Yeah i dont know what really to say or do. This is my first post but been on this forum since janauary.

Hi,I must admit your timescale has been extremely quick up to now. We have members here still waiting several months after claiming. If you're doing the assessment on a mobile phone then make sure it's fully charged before hand. Have a drink next to you for easy reach. If you kept a copy of the form you filled in (you should have) then have a read of that before the assessment to remind yourself of what you said. Try not to answer any questions with just a yes or no. Give as much detail as possible. If you don't understand the question then ask them to repeat it.The majority of people claim PIP successfully first time without any problems. It's natural to mostly only read the bad stories on any internet forum. If someone's had a decision they're happy with we don't hear their story because they have no questions to ask.The assessment can last anywhere between 20-120 minutes.2

Welcome to the community @uneventful99
I'm glad that you've finally taken the step into posting here, hopefully you've enjoyed your time being on the community since January. We have a category dedicated to PIP which you are more than welcome to browse, and several other categories on a variety of subjects that I'd recommend getting stuck into.
Regarding your mental health, do you receive any support to manage your PTSD, depression and anxiety? Is your GP / medical team aware of how you are impacted?
The assessments can seem quite daunting beforehand, it's always worth giving some thought to what you might want to say and perhaps writing some notes or keeping a copy of your form alongside you.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.1 -

The report will be written and returned to DWP. A decision maker will then look at that, as well as everything you sent and then make a decision. Decision can take anything up to 12 weeks, sometimes longer. Once it's made you'll be sent the decision letter.

@Audrey78 thanks will do.
So when did you take your assessment friday last week? I wonder how long it will take to get a decision because everything has been going so fast for me ie. Process. I look forward to hearing back from you when you get your decision and will let you know when i get my report.1 -
Requesting a copy of the report isn't always a good idea. It causes a lot more needless stress and anxiety for a lot of people, especially if it's not what you expected to read.

Hey everybody just thought i would give everyone a update of whats been going on with my case. I had a phone assement on 12th of april 2022 after 2 days the assement was done. However since the 14th it has been held for audit. And now its been 4weeks since the day of the assement and all they keep telling me is that they haven't got it phone back next week as you can imagine it has taken its toll on me ie(why me) and my condition which i wont ramble on about. Does anyone know what i could do to try and find out whats going on called them today and the system was down for the dwp. Just when i thought i was lucky and everything was going smoothly.1

If the assessment report is in audit still then unfortunately there’s nothing you can do until the audit is completed. Once it’s completed the report will be returned to DWP and there’s no timescales how long the audit will take. The longest I’ve known a report be in audit for us 6 weeks.I know the wait is frustrating but please try to think of something else.1

My assement report has reached DWP after a 4 week audit by captia
I have been told over the phone by DWP. I asked them to send out my report and as it has taken so long if they could tell me over the phone a quick summary of the report and the lady said it says to be reassessed after 18 months. What could that mean?1 -

I have phoned up pip today, assement date was 12/04/2022 it went for internal audit and dwp recived report on 9/05/2022 and have recived a decision dated 19/05/2022 that they have awarded me standard for both and recived 10 points for each. And i think i should have recived minimum based of the assessor report 14 for daily living. They have told me that i will recive the report on by latest 30th of this month . And the back pay payment will be paid on the 25/05/2022 and my first pip payment will be paid 2 weeks after. Where/What should i do now.0

Not report but letter of the award on the 30/05/20220

Hi @uneventful99
I know the wait is extremely frustrating but I suggest you wait until you get the actual decision letter from the DWP. Only then will you have all the necessary information available to enable you to make an informed choice as to whether to accept the decision or request a mandatory reconsideration. You cant challenge a decision until you know what that decision is or, more precisely, which parts of that decision you disagree with.
Good luck and keep us posted as to what happens.1
