A JOB WHICH REQUIRES NO VOICE USE AT ALL.

I've just been granted ill-health retirement but my appeal for the Tier to be upgradraded has been refused. The adjudicator stated,'It is perfectly conceivable to obtain a job which requires no voice use'

Any ideas? I emailed Job Centre Plus as I have no funtioning voice and was told to ring them!!

I'm 60 and my only work experience is as a teaching assistant or in customer service - neither of which I can now do. I don't know where to start.

Hi @petersj  how are you supposed to ring them if you can't talk? I would message them again reminding them of this. It's rediculas. As jobs I can't think of 1 where you don't have to communicate by talking. Ask them to give you recommendations of these jobs.

    Hi Sandy-123
They say they can't job-match & gave me a link to https://findajob.dwp.gov.uk/ I have to select the category, then scroll the jobs to see what I could apply for. There was also a link to Access To Work, but they couldn't help me stay in the job I had!

Just a few thoughts you could type up notes from audio to text maybe for students,  data entry role , it won't be easy and there will be very limited vacancies

That sounds promising for you Peter. If you want I can do a search for you later.

I just wonder if proof writer would come under this.

@SueHeath weidly I did look at something very similar but they need formal qualifications and some need a degree. I also looked at SATS exam marking, having been a TA for 21 years but you need to be a qualified teacher!

Time off for regular treatment is going to be a major issue too. I'm under 3 health authorities and each one is a day out. (Although I think this may be the same for a lot of people with disabilities.)
