Hi I had a txt from DWP Monday saying they had received my assessment for pip they would be in touch within 8 weeks. I started my claim 16 th December 2021 . Has anyone else waited this long

    Hi and welcome to the community 

    The average wait time is 10 months from start to finish so your claim has been dealt with quite quickly compared to some others 

    The wait for a decision is anything from 2 to 12 weeks the 8 weeks quoted is standard guidance

    Thank you for all the answers . It seems so many people are claiming pip now. It’s just a worrying time waiting

    It is one of the contributing factors to delays, there has indeed been an increase in the number of claims being made according to the statistics.
    Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
