Advice to your younger self

I can't remember whether or not this has been done before, let's do it anyway.
Perhaps the younger members can learn from the older members mistakes. Actually I think we can all learn something from each other. To quote Warren Buffett, "It's good to learn from your mistakes. It's better to learn from other people's mistakes."
My advice would be to stay away from computer games while in education. I think that (other than health) they were my downfall as I used to be one of the top in the school until I discovered computer games and they took over from studying.
My other advice would be it doesn't matter what people think of you and try not to do things just to fit in.

@Teddybear12 glad you agree
Though I guess I would say I mean it “within reason” if that makes sense.
As an example I wouldn’t play my music at 100% volume as I don’t care what neighbours think! Sometimes what people think does matter.
But yes be yourself is the perfect day to word it0 -
Very true @Teddybear12
There is a saying, “I’d rather be hated for being who I am than loved for being who I’m not” that’s kind of apt
In truth I don’t think random people/the public really care about/notice us as much as we think they do in the first place!0 -
Great discussion topic @66Mustang mine would be:
Asking for help is a strength, we all do it, and we all need it
And that's a really interesting point @Teddybear12
Perhaps when we don't keep up the 'mask' of fitting in, it can be quite freeing, but it might risk alienating some people. I guess the question is weighing up what you could gain over what you might loose.0 -
My words of wisdom
Don't take anything for granted life is short so grab every opportunity that comes your way
Live your life and follow your dreams
Don't spend time worrying about things you can't change0 -
Listen to your parents they really do know things 👍0

Thanks all for sharing
I have another one that’s common I think…don’t give up playing an instrument…but then I didn’t enjoy it at the time so maybe did do the right thing?
Wish I could play now though0
