Hello everyone
I have previously spoke about my PIP claim and my ward
I just have one more question I am thinking of maybe doing a mandatory reconsideration and part of my daily living i’m happy with my mobility part it’s just a few things I don’t think Its correct on a daily living Part
i’ve done some research on mandatory reconsideration and I’ve seen some people say DWP

Can deduct two points or even cancel your claim I’m not sure if this is true so I’m a little bit nervous to do a MR just wondering if anyone can give me advice I feel like it’s worth appealing but I just want some advice regarding this
i’m a little bit worried in case I lose my PIP as everybody is quite aware it’s quite a long process and very stressful for me

Hello @chrisssy
Thanks for making this post.
When you do a MR, they look at your entire claim again, this could mean that your award could go up, down or remain the same.
Have you got a decision letter? It should provide information on there about how you can go about requesting the MR , and you have one month from the date on that letter to make the request. However, that month deadline can be extended.
You can use this MR request form template on the Gov.uk website or write up your own letter explaining why you disagree with the decision and believe you should have scored more points.
You mentioned CAB there, and they also have an information page about carrying out a PIP MR, which includes a link to get in touch with one of their advisers.0 -
Thank you so much for clarifying that @Ross_Scope I really feel like it’s worth doing a MR but I’m petrified if I’m completely honest I’m actually losing my pip and the whole experience was very long and extreme anxiety for me so I’m just not sure where to go from here if I’m honest0

I understand @chrisssy, it is a really difficult decision especially if the process so far has caused you so much stress.
If you are unsure, it might be worth talking it through first with a professional adviser who will be able to support with your benefit claim. Of course you know about CAB, but you could also utilise Advice Local.

What award did you get exactly? And where do you think you could score more points and why?
