Hi,
My mother sent back her review form start of October 2021. Still no correspondence from DWP or assessment centre.
My mother sent back her review form start of October 2021. Still no correspondence from DWP or assessment centre.
She rang DWP who told her that the assessment providers have her file from 14th January 2022 and are dealing with it. She rang the assessment provider who said that DWP have yet to send it over? We’re really confused as to what’s going on.
can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi @vixen_5053 thanks for reaching out this morning.
It sounds as though there's some crossed wires at play here. I think it might be worth ringing again to explain what you've been told so far and get some clarity, but do be aware that the people on the enquiry line are based in a call centre, and not the DWP itself.
I know there's a lot of backlogs over the last few years that they are working to resolve, but it might also be taking a while because it's been selected for an audit, for the DWP to review it's processes and best practice at random.
Keep us updated with how you get on in the meantime, and if there's anything we can help with please let us know.

She managed to speak to someone different at the DWP who advised her that her claim was in a que to be referred to the assessment centre. Just a delay that’s all.0

Files aren't always sent to the health assessment providers straight away.

Going through the same thing was given the same information vixen, sent my review form back in November but i have been assured my PIP will not stop as it will be extended again if not sorted by August.0

Yes they did advise that if a decision is still not made by the time her award ends in July then payments will continue. When a decision is made she will still be back paid if she gets a higher award but won’t have to pay anything back if she is rejected, which hopefully won’t be the case.1

That's not correct if the review was started by DWP. If a change of circumstances was reported and a higher award is given then yes, money will owed from the date you rang to report the changes (providing you had the worsening of condition for at least 3 months)

Okay thanks for the advice. 8 and a half months and still waiting for the review form to even go to a case manager. Patience is key.0

Just an update, finally after 16 months my mother has a telephone assessment for the 2nd of March. Hope this may help people who are waiting, as she sent her review forms back in October 2021.0

Hi,
Thank you.
My Mother had her assessment Thursday gone past, it went okay, a lot of questions, literally everything, they let my Brother answer every question as my mother had an epileptic fit just before the assessment so she was a bit out of it, it went on for just over an hour, assessor said they may need to ring back at some point. They have now rang and said they will be ringing again this evening at 5pm as they need to ask a few more questions. We thought they already had asked all they needed to.Is this anything to be worried about?
Thanks.0 -
Sometimes they do ring again if they need to ask further questions. It doesn't mean anything other than that.
