As the title suggests - had my long awaited PIP assesment today I cried the whole way through on the verge of a panic attack didn't explain my points well at all as I was incapable and my executive functioning was at -100, had to keep asking her what the question was, stopping mid conversation etc . Was so humiliating. Anyone else been through similar? My anxiety is probably higher now than before the call
I'm claiming for PIP for ADHD, anxiety and depression.
They asked about my child my work and if I had a driving licence, I explained that I have to use the car to leave the house otherwise I won't go out and can't use public transport etc

Welcome to the community @H4rr13t
I'm sorry to hear that you found the PIP assessment tough. You're certainly not the only one to feel this way after the assessment, so I'm sure another member with some personal experience will be along to support you soon.
I know it's easier said than done, but please try not to worry about it too much. It might be a little while before you receive the decision letter, so try and put it out of your mind for now if you can.
If you don't end up getting the award you were hoping for, you can appeal the decision. The first step would be to request a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR). Turn2Us have some information about MRs on their website, but please only read this if it'll reduce your anxiety rather than increase it!
Are you receiving enough support to help you manage your ADHD, anxiety, and depression at the moment?
How are you feeling now a little time has passed since the assessment? Panic attacks and anxiety are really unpleasant- is there something you can do that usually helps you to unwind?0 -
@Tori_Scope Hi, thank you for your response, I appreciate your reassuring words and warm welcome. I will try to switch off about it until then.
I feel like I'm lacking support at the moment to be honest, the adhd team are too busy to see me and I have been discharged from the CMHT. I've got myself in such a muddle I don't know where to go as I've cut everyone out.
I feel better after the assessment now thank you0 -
@H4rr13t. I feel for you. Judging from your description, it is clear you have supplied sufficient evidence of your condition. In my experience these people know what to expect, please don't worry, you did fine0

I'm glad you're feeling a little better now @H4rr13t
That does sound like a tricky situation. Is your GP up to date with where you're at with your ADHD and mental health? They may be able to make some suggestions, or help to speed processes up.
If you feel you could benefit from some talking therapy, and live in England, you can refer yourself through the IAPT service.
It may also be worth having a look on the Hub of Hope to see whether there are any alternative forms of support, such as those from mental health charities or local organisations, in your area.
Though it's not as intensive as professional support, self-care can sometimes go a long way in making daily life more manageable. Mind have some information on self-care for mental health problems that you might find helpful.I don't know where to go as I've cut everyone out.Do you mind me asking whether you're referring to mental health/medical professionals here, or whether you mean other people in your personal life such as family or friends?

@Teddybear12 thank you for the advise, I will take a look at this. The DWP have my report now, is it worth asking for my report and start drafting my MR now? Thanks

@Tori_Scope no I don't have a very good relationship with my GP unfortunately, I have been meaning to change. I will check out the links you have given thank you.
I have cut everyone out, I don't really have any professionals involved now. I'm not speaking to friends or family at the moment, I will often drop out of society when struggling0 -
It’s not always a good idea to request the report to be sent because a lot of times it causes even more anxiety than you may already be experiencing. The report is not the decision, just a recommendation. If the worst happens and you’re refused, you don’t need the report to request the MR.0
