Hi all, my husband suffers with sleep apnea and Restless leg syndrome, these combined are terrible.
Does anyone know whether he would be entitled to ant benefits? He works full time.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post

    Hi,
There's no entitlement to any benefits based on any diagnosis. Personal Independence Payment (PIP) maybe possible but it will depend on exactly how his conditions affect him against the 12 PIP descriptors. You can see them here. https://pipinfo.net/
It's not means tested so other income/savings/capital do not affect the amount you maybe entitled to.

Hello there @Bainbridge01 and welcome to the community, thanks for reaching out this morning :) To help our members find your post, I've moved it over into the benefits and financial support category, and edited the title slightly.

As Poppy has mentioned you may be able to look into applying for PIP, if you feel like your husband's conditions affect his ability to carry out any of the descriptors below, which focus on daily living, and mobility.

The PIP form has questions about care and mobility needs. These include:

    • preparing food

    • eating food

    • washing and bathing

    • using the toilet

    • dressing and undressing

    • reading

    • communicating with speech

    • managing your medicines or treatment

    • making decisions about money

    • engaging with other people

    • planning and following a journey

    • moving around

If you are applying for PIP, this is assessed on how your condition affects you day to day. You can receive PIP without a diagnosis. You can get support to fill out your form, from Citizens Advice: Help filling in your PIP form (Citizens Advice).

If there's anything that doesn't make sense, please do let me know, and I'll see what I can do to help.

    Alex
