I recieved this text from pip 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing, will I need an assessment?
Thanks for sending us your 'How your disability affects you' form. We may need you to attend a consultation with a health professional before we make our decision. We'll contact you again if we do. Please call us if any of the details you gave us have changed.

The majority of people have assessments so i'd advise you to expect one. If this is needed they'll contact you with an appointment date and time.

Welcome to the community @susankay22
Let us know how you get on with your claim if you can! How have you found the process so far? 1 -
Hi @susankay22
Welcome to the online community. I think the text is more an acknowledgement of receipt of the PIP form and that it is likely that you will need to have a health assessment. This link gives information about Preparing for PIP assessment | Disability charity Scope UK
We are a friendly bunch in the online community and please reach out to us if you need further information and support and we will be happy to help if we can.1 -

I hadn’t picked that up. Is that a measure to try and speed things up to help catch up rather than a recognition that non paper assessments are often unnecessary?Username_removed said:Currently around 25% of all assessments are being done on paper. The APs are aiming for that to rise to 50%.2
