Hi @gjw59help
Sorry to hear this, that is a shame for you. Is there any way in which you can appeal it or make a request to have it brought forward for your circumstances?0 -
Hi @gjw59help - as far as I can see online: https://www.tameside.gov.uk/counciltaxenergyrebateIf you don't pay by direct debit this link says you should get a letter saying how you can apply by 6th June. If you don't return your application by 21 Aug 2022, then 'the £150 payment will automatically be credited to your Council Tax account.'

They say they are having problems with all this but at the moment I am contacting Andrew Gwynne about it,I will update when I can.0

Good luck with it all @gjw59help. It sounds really frustrating that they are having problems with all this at the moment.
Hopefully, you will find a better response/outcome soon. I will look forward to hearing from you with your update when you can

This system is causing a real headache with councils. Their computer systems are geared to collect money and not give it away.chiarieds said:Hi @gjw59help - as far as I can see online: https://www.tameside.gov.uk/counciltaxenergyrebateIf you don't pay by direct debit this link says you should get a letter saying how you can apply by 6th June. Personally it would be far easier for councils to deduct the £150 from the current CT liability like they are doing in Scotland (if there is one). For those with any arrears I am told that the payment will come off those arrears. Further I have been informed that if there is no liability to CT, you can claim that payment from the council as it will show as a credit on the CT account with no liability to set it against.
I've given up worrying about it - if I get it or don't.
My main worry is how to make sure that any more handouts during the year are received from the government.0 -
I had a reply from Andrew Gwynne he is contacting them to find out what went wrong,my wife ticked the box to receive the cash but instead of asking for her bank details the claim was closed down to be added to next years bill0

Glad that you are sorted with the £150 payment.woodbine said:We received ours 10 days ago as we pay by DD, neighbours don't but they got a letter telling them how to access the money 3 days ago, it proved difficult as the system went into overload but all should be well next week.
@racyguy I don't see any problems with ongoing help as any you qualify for will be paid automatically.
As for the ongoing help I am utterly confused with some of what is happening. Used to be on Pension Credit but claim was closed down in Jan 2022 but I would still be entitled to it (approx £52 a week) if I reclaimed it. From what I have read whether it is right or not, you have to be receiving PC by a date long gone so no point in reclaiming it now to get these handouts.
As I have said it will be nice whatever we get but not holding much hope out - I have no idea of the various conditions you have to be under to get something)

If those in fuel poverty will not get it this year whereas in past years they have, yet you say that more people will qualify this year - I really do wonder where these extra bods are coming from and why were they not allowed to claim it previously?woodbine said:
whilst some who have had it in the past won't get it my understanding is that in effect more people will get it.
People who have previously proven that they needed it no longer find themselves in that position - their income/benefits must have taken them out of fuel poverty?0 -
Hi I am just trying to get my rebate of 150 I have had the letter and been told to fill out form on the email. Where is this form please or can I take this form to the post office, please give me advise.0

Hi @Hollywood1
Sorry but we won't be able to answer as watch council have different ways of doing this
Details should be in the letter you have if nor ring your local council tax department0 -
Not really. It’s because previously I believe a disability benefit qualified youracyguy said:

You'll need to speak to your local Authority regarding this or have a look on their website.

Ah right. So those who are in receipt of PIP at the highest rate for care and mobility are no longer poor and can afford not to need the help they had previously.poppy123456 said:

But a fit unemployed 30 year old can?0 -

Well PIP isn't means tested and just because a person maybe claiming this, it doesn't mean they are "poor." I don't set the criteria, i just give the advice!

If you are disabled and live alone, would a single person receive the £300 and £400?calcotti said:
