Good morning,
im a bit confused as to what working hours I’m allowed to do.
I have found a job and am enjoying it at the moment, I do get help from a disability work coach who helps with various things that can help me in work place etc.
my question is will I have the disability element taken from me if I work 16 hours a week?

I was told I can earn £335 a month before they will start deducting money from my benefits but I’ll be getting around 600 a month. I’m just confused as to if they will take the disability element away as it seems pointless me working if that’s the case as I only be about 35 a week better off?
Would they also take my disability element away?

thank you, thank you,
I didn’t even apply for the disability element when I first got UC and didn’t even have an assessment so I am unsure of the reasons I got it? I am wondering if it was because of my disability itself which made me entitled to it without assessment?0 -
@Biblioklept thank you, I think I am just wondering if I’ll get reassessed ? I didn’t have an assessment or even apply for it? So I’m unsure how I got it in the first place other than I know I’m poorly and struggle0

You would not get LCWRA as a result of another disability benefit. However there are certain medical conditions that will result in automatic entitlement (principally cancer being treated by chemotherapy or radiotherapy).opalcine said:thank you, thank you,

@calcotti thanks, we’ll mine is mental health (bipolar) so not sure if that qualifies? I just don’t know if it’ll get taken away if I start working so many hours? I’m struggling with it atm anyway… so not even sure if I’ll cope in the long run and I can only imagine if it gets taken away it’ll be a nightmare to try and get it back again!0

No, this wouldn't automatically qualify you for LCWRA. Unless you transferred from ESA and you were previously in the Support Group and the you would be entitled to LCWRA from the start of your UC claim.opalcine said:@calcotti thanks, we’ll mine is mental health (bipolar) so not sure if that qualifies?

@Biblioklept No I wasn’t, it was a new claim altogether. I did not need to hand sick notes either? I was a bit confused at the time as to why I got it without applying etc.
I do get PIP so maybe that’s why?0 -
@poppy123456 No I wasn’t… not really sure how I got it! It just appeared on my claim? How odd!I do get PIP so may that have something to do with it?0

PIP has nothing to do with LCWRA. Did you fill out the work capability assessment form? (UC50) It's possible to have had a paper based assessment just based on the form and any evidence you sent. They are rare but do happen.
