Hi everyone
Just been diagnosed at 42 with adhd through Harley street.
My 6 year old daughter has been referred via NHS...very early days. Long slog ahead.
Am I still abke to claim PIP for myself and get any support for the daughter pre diagnosis 🤔
Thank you
LJC

Hi,
PIP isn’t awarded based on any diagnosis. It’s how your conditions affect you against the 12 PIP activities.See link https://pipinfo.net/
A claim can potentially take about 10 months from starting a claim to having a decision.
It would be DLA for your daughter because she’s under 16. You must prove that she needs more care and attention than that if a child the same age who doesn’t have a disability. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/disability-living-allowance/before-you-claim-dla/check-if-you-can-get-dla/1 -
Hi @LJC1979
Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us. How are you today? Thanks for already finding the courage to reach out to us. I appreciate how much courage it can take to reach out.
In addition to the advice already provided by @poppy123456, I am wondering if you would like to tell us more about how you are feeling about your diagnosis and going through the diagnosis process with your daughter at the moment?
We are here for you if you would like to share more with us. You don't have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to
