Hi, I last completed a WCA in 2020, I don’t remember the letter they sent giving me a date for a renewal assessment. My health isn’t any better since, I’ve got major anxiety about it though. It is fully taking over my whole thought process, I’m aware that renewals are on hold. However, does anyone know just how long for? When it’s likely they’ll start back up with the re-assessments. Time frames etc. thankyou.

Hi,
LCWRA is an ongoing award until a new decision on a work capability assessment says otherwise. The decision letters do not have timescales on them.
Ive not heard anything about when they will start back up again. At the moment they are concentrating on new claims still.
When claiming UC when it’s time for your review you will have a letter on your journal telling you they are referring you for the WCA. Shortly after that you will receive the form in the post.0 -
Okay, thankyou for letting me know this. Have the DWP not given any time frames at all? Also, Is there a time scale you are allowed to be on Lcwra due to mental health issues? I have bpd, depression and anxiety. I’m no better than I was in 2016 and I’m afraid they are gonna push me back into work because it’s been a long time.0

No, there's no timescales for anyone to be allowed on LCWRA because it's an ongoing award for everyone until a new decision says otherwise.

I just feel by reading some other peoples posts on here that after so many years they start pushing for you to go back to work by either dropping the work related activities or considering you for for work. And as it has been now, 6 years of me struggling I do feel that the DWP will therefore find me fit for work because they will think that I should be over it all by now, to which I’m not.Does that make sense. Is it common that after so long, people with mental health start being dismissed in there assessments and are seen to be fit for work.I’m having super intrusive thoughts about this at the minute, it’s really playing in my mind. Any input would be great. Thankyou.0

Yes people do get found fit for work, there's no denying that. At this moment in time you haven't so in my opinion there's no point thinking you will anytime in the future. You have to put this to the back of your mind and think about something else. Reading through threads on internet forums will never help you because you'll mostly only read the bad stories. No one can speculate anything. When you do have your review just make sure you treat it as a new claim by giving as much information as possible.I've been in the Support Group for ESA (same as LCWRA) since 2013 and never had any issues at any review.0

Thankyou poppy, I have an appointment with my psychiatrist today, I’ll have to mention about my obsessiveness getting out of hand. Because reading and scouring for answers isn’t healthy I know this. Your answers have Been helpful.0

Glad to help. Good luck with your appointment today.

I hope the appointment goes well today too @jamrumples
It'd be worth mentioning the obsessive and intrusive thoughts to them if you feel as though they're affecting you quite a bit, which they seem to be.
