PIP isn't about a diagnosis so on this basis then no you don't. You would only need to report changes if your conditions have changed so you could score more points for a higher award. Even then you shouldn't report any changes until you've got some expert advice from an agency near you.
No, you won't move to UC because PIP isn't part of UC.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hi @mookie - as PIP is not about any diagnoses, then you don't need to inform the DWP, as that wouldn't be seen as a change of circumstances. However, if you have a look at the PIP descriptors here: https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/asset-library/Personal-Independence-Payment-Descriptors-and-Scores-April-2021.pdf    then see if you think you might gain sufficient points to increase your award, then you might consider reporting a change of circumstances.
As you thought, this would mean you would be sent a new claim form for PIP, & an assessment would follow. It would not mean you'd have to move onto UC.
Be aware that your current award may change, so it would be an idea to get some expert advice about this first. Please look here: https://advicelocal.uk/   choosing 'Welfare benefits' from the drop down menu.

That sounds really difficult @mookie. Is there anything that usually helps you feel better when you feel this way? I know different things work best for different people.

I hope you are feeling better soon. Good luck with the cab and please feel free to let us know how you get on and if we can do anything else to support you  :)

That sounds really frustrating @mookie. Not least because you've already had a liver transplant and are on a strict diet.

Unfortunately, we can't provide medical advice. Your best point of call will be the medical professionals involved. However, the NHS has a resource you might find helpful  :)

Hello @mookie I can understand why that's worrying news, and I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling stressed.

I'm not too familiar with proteinuria myself, and even if I was, I would encourage you to speak to your doctor, a dietician, or other specialist about what you can do. Unfortunately no one on the forum is a medical adviser, so it's always advisable to speak with the professionals involved in your care.

You might like to read more about it the condition on the National Kidney Foundation website. Do keep us up to date with how you're getting on, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you need to, as it's important to look after your mental health too :)

How frustrating that you had to repeat the test but heard nothing. Hopefully your appointments Thursday will help.

Unfortunately, we don't provide medical advice so I can't comment as to what it might be. However, if we can do anything else to help, please don't hesitate to let us know  :)
